JEE Main

  • What are JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) examinations?

    The erstwhile AIEEE exam will now be called as JEE (Main) exam and erstwhile IIT-JEE will now be called as JEE (Advanced) exam. To appear in JEE (Advanced), one has to appear in JEE (Main) first and should be in top 1.5 lakh candidate category wise.

  • What is the new scheme of engineering entrance examination?

    It has been decided to hold a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) from the year 2013 for admission to the undergraduate programmes in Engineering in two parts, JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). Only the top 150000 candidates based on performance in JEE (Main) will qualify to appear in the JEE (Advanced) examination.

    Admissions to IITs will be based only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced), subject to condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile (category wise) in their respective Boards/Qualifying Examinations.

    Admission to NITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and participating Institutions will be based on 40 % weightage for performance in Class XII board/ equivalent examination marks (normalized) and the remainder 60 % weightage would be given to performance in JEE (Main) and a combined All India Rank (AIR) would be decided accordingly.

  • What will be medium of examinations of JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced)?

    Medium of examinations will be Hindi and English. The JEE (Main) examination will also be conducted in the Regional Languages of the State(s) on the requests of such State(s) who are participating in JEE (Main) for their State Engineering Colleges/ Universities. However JEE (Advanced) will be conducted in English/Hindi medium only.

  • What is minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE (Main) 2016 exam?

    The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE (Main) 2016 is that a candidate must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in 2016 may also appear in JEE (MAIN) 2016 provisionally.

  • Will there be negative marking in JEE (Main) exam 2016? What will be the typology of the questions therein?

    Yes there is. There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. Hence the student has to be careful while answering questions.

  • What is the syllabus for JEE (Main) 2016 Exam? Is this the same as last year's AIEEE syllabus? What will be syllabus for JEE (Advanced)? Is both the syllabus same or different?

    The syllabus for JEE (Main) 2016 exam is given on JEE (Main) site jeemain.nic.in. Yes it is same as last year's AIEEE syllabus. For the syllabus of JEE (Advanced) please refer JEE (Advanced) site jeeadv.iitb.ac.in. Both are almost similar but you must refer to official syllabi of both.

  • What is NEET Entrance exams?

    NEET is an entrance test for selection of candidates for admission to MBBS / BDS course, under 15% of all India quota seats in Government Medical Dental colleges of India

  • Will the NEET 2016 be offline or online?

    NEET 2016 will be offline.

  • What is the ratio of NEET syllabus from class XIth & XIIth ?

    Ratio from class XIth PCB is 60 % and ratio from XIIth PCB is 40 %.

  • What is the pattern of NEET 2016?

    The NEET 2016 consists of one paper containing 180 MCQs with single correct answer from the subject PCB. Answer should be written on OMR sheet with ball-point pen only. Each MCQ comes with four marks and total score of paper is 720. The Duration of exams will be 3 hours from 10 am to 1 pm. Negative marking will be there, incorrect answer or more than answer will be consider as ¼ negative marks.

  • If any candidate faces problem in filling up the form, to whom candidate should approach to?

    Candidate can take the assistance of facilitation centers for submission of application forms. The service from these centers is free of cost.

  • Can one send confirmation page of online application through courier?

    No, it cannot be send through courier.

  • What are the documents that should be attach with the confirmation page to be send to the board?

    The candidates are not required to send the print out of the confirmation page or any of the documents to NEET unit.
